I had what we call a "stink bug" in Bulgarian (after some research I found that its English name is Green Shield Bug, Palomena prasina in Latin) lay eggs on the window in front of my desk. It took about a week for the eggs to hatch. I took some photos of the hatchlings.

Day 1

This is what the young shield bugs looked the day they hatched. The middle photo has a lighter for scale.

Day 3

I forgot to take any photos from the second day after hatching. By the third the insect had started to gain reddish colouration.

Day 4

On the third day the shield bugs were already moving quite a lot. By its end they had gone away. This gave me the opportunity to take some photos of single bugs, too.
